Are you going to AGU this year?

Dear APECS member,

Are you going to AGU (American Geophysical Union) this year?

If so, please join us on Thursday, December 18, from 12 - 2, in the San Francisco Marriott, Pacific Room A for a mentor panel discussion, Q&A about APECS, and opportunities to get involved or share your activities. If there are certain things you would like to discuss, let us know (
apecsinfo@gmail.com)

On Thursday night there will be an IPY reception at the Exploratorium. We encourage all APECS members to attend this reception to meet other APECS members as well as the many senior polar scientists that will be attending.... and its free!

There will also be an IPY exhibit booth this year and we have been invited to help with this booth and share all the great things APECS is doing. If you would be interested in spending a few hours the booth, please email Rhian (
ipy.ras@gmail.com) with your availability. This is a great opportunity to network with other researchers!

If you are presenting a poster or have a talk at AGU, please let us know as we are putting together a list of presentations by APECS members.

For a list of events and things other APECS members are doing there, visit: http://arcticportal.org/apecs/agu2008

If you are going and need to find a roommate or a place to stay, let us know and we'll try to help out.

Thanks and we hope to see you in San Francisco!
Jenny and Rhian
